Community guidelines

Compete hard, play fair, respect people. These guidelines apply alongside the Code of Conduct and the Terms of Service.

The spirit of the game

Trash talk belongs at the table, in good humour, between people who are both enjoying it. Everywhere on RingGame — World Chat, venue rooms, direct messages, profiles, team names and match notes — treat people the way you'd want to be treated at your home room.

Not allowed

  • Harassment and bullying: targeting someone with insults or repeated unwanted messages, or encouraging others to pile on.
  • Hate: attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics.
  • Threats and violence: threatening anyone, or glorifying violence.
  • Sexual content: explicit content of any kind. Anything sexualising minors is reported to the authorities.
  • Private information: sharing someone's address, phone number, private messages or photos without permission.
  • Spam and scams: repeated messages, unsolicited ads, phishing, or requests for money.
  • Gambling solicitation: arranging bets or side action through RingGame. Wagering isn't offered on the platform.
  • Cheating talk: coordinating match fixing, rating manipulation or fake accounts.
  • Impersonation: pretending to be another player, a Ringmaster, a venue or RingGame staff.
  • Illegal activity of any kind.

Chat rooms

  • World Chat is open to every signed-in member, and each live venue has its own room.
  • Rooms may use slow mode (a short wait between messages), message length limits and blocked-word filters.
  • Keep venue rooms about that venue and its events.
  • Moderators are RingGame administrators everywhere and, in a venue's room, the venue owner, its assigned Ringmasters and the region's managers.

Reporting

  • A message: use the report option on the message. When three different members report the same message it is hidden automatically until a moderator reviews it.
  • A match result: dispute it from the match page — see Results & disputes.
  • Anything else: open a support ticket from Help in the app, or shake your phone to report a problem with a screenshot.
  • Emergencies: contact local emergency services first.

False or retaliatory reports are themselves a violation.

Consequences

We look at what happened, its impact and the account's history. Actions include:

Meeting in person

Matches happen at real venues. Meet in public at the venue, follow the venue's rules, and leave if you feel unsafe. Never share your password or send money to someone you met on RingGame.
